 Pitt Women drop 1-0 loss to WVU 

Fri.(10-21); The Robert Morris Women's team scored twice in the second half to beat Fairleigh Dickenson(N.J.), 3-1, in front of a couple hundred at the North Atletic Complex.

Wed.(10-12, M) Pitt fell to West Virginia, 2-0, on a rainy evening at Ambrose Urbanic Field at PSC, before 337.

Mon.(9-12); Air Force wins a see-saw battle with Duquesne, 3-2, in the opening in the final day of the Pitt/Nike Invitational, on Sunday. The Fighting Falcons win the tournament, after beating Pitt, 2-1, on Friday.

 Bowling Green edged Pitt in the second game, 1-0, and needed two overtimes to beat Duquesne by the same score on Friday, to earn 2nd. 

Fri.(9-9); Pitt/Nike Invitational, game 1; Bowling Green 1, Duquesne 0-Rodecliff Hall scored unassisted in the 106th, to win it for the Falcons.

Game 2; Robert Iledare scored for the Panthers, but the Fighting Falcons came back with a pair in the second half(70, 89) to win, in front of 814 at Ambrose Urbanic Field at the Peterson Sports Complex.

Wed.(8-17); Terry Akpua scored twice and added an assist to lead Pitt over CalU, 4-1, in front of 230 at Ambrose Urbanic Field at PSC, in exhibition action. Pitt hosts Marshall on Saturday at 2.

Wed.(4-6); The Pitt Panthers will be holding exhibitions at their new home, the Peterson Sports Complex. Saturday, along with Softball and Baseball, the Women's Soccer Team will play at 11 am, and the Men will conduct an intresquad scrimmage at 1. Then on Sunday at 2, the Men will scrimmage Duquesne. Admission is free.

Tues.(1-18) Zach Johnson, goalkeeper for the W.V.U. Men, was taken in the third round of the MLS Supplemental Draft by the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Sat.(12-18) Pitt-Greensburg Senior Defender Jake Wehar was named a Regional All-American for 2010.

 The NSCAA named Wehar as a Third team selection for the Great Lakes Region in NCAA Division III, on Friday. 

Sun.(12-11) Akron(MAC) defeated Louisville(Big East), 1-0, before a large crowd at Harder Stadium on the campus of UCSB. The goal coming in the 79th minute from Scott Caldwell, unassisted off a corner kick.

It was the first Championship in any sport by the Zips.

Fri.(12-9) CalU has announced that they have broke ground on the building of a Soccer Complex near Booster Field at Phillipsburg property, which will be the permanet home of the Men's and Women's soccer teams. No deadline for completion was mentioned. 

Sun.(12-5), Notre Dame Women defeated prevously unbeaten Stanford, 1-0, to earn their third National NCAA Title. Adrianne Leon scored in the 63rd minute from Melissa Henderson.

Sun.(10-31), The Pitt Men had a shot at the playoffs if they beat UConn and Marquette lost. Well, the Panthers were shutout up at North Alleghany H.S., 2-0, and host Marquette defeated visiting Seton Hall, 3-2.

 The Women were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Big East torunament, 1-0, in Chicago to DePaul, thanks to a 39th minute Penalty kick by Michelle Scampora. DePaul moves on to face Marquette in the Semifinals.
